In view of persistently growing liberalization of economic system across the world and economic interdependencies, globalization of markets, free flow of capital and knowledge, proliferation and convergence of technologies, interaction among different financial systems of different countries, overcapacity in capital intensive industries, an unstable oil cartel, fast changing demographies of the workforce, tectonic change in personal, social, familial values of people and rapidly moving customers' taste have rendered global business scenario much more volatile and competitive. Business that were immune to global competition only a few years ago now find themselves locked in fierce and ferocious competition battles from around the world. Coping with these developments and achieving sustainable competitive prowess demand transformational changes in approach to managing business strategies and effectuating these strategies. This is not possible without change in structure and culture. Strategy-structure fit as also strategy-culture fit are imperative for bringing about the desired change in the organization. Creation of such congruence is the major responsibility of corporate managers who have to be multivalent and play the role of a transformational leader and display new templates of leadership to influence the behaviour of the people to achieve the desired results. About The Author

Prof. R.M. Srivastava, a Ph.D. has been Senior Professor of Management, and Head and Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, B.H.U. He also served as Professor of Management at the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. Taking cognizance of his dexterous experience and experties, he was nominated as Directory by the Government of India on the Board of Northern Coal Fields (Coal India Group). Expert Member of the All India Management Panel of the UGC and AICTE and Panel Member of Management in the Ministry of HRD.

Besides providing training and updating university teachers as UGC resource person and coordinating several Quality Improvement Programmes of AICTE, he has been regularly conducting in-house Management Development Programmes for the managers of various financial and industrial organizations to develop their skills and competencies. He has made seminal contribution in the fields of management through publications of 118 research papers and management tratises in the area of strategic management and finance.

Prof. Srivastava is presently a Team Member of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Government of India.

Shubhra Verma, a Management Consultant in the area of financial and human resource management, has had luminous academic and professional attainments to her credit having all through first class career. Ms. Shubhra Verma has been avidly associated with teaching finance and human resource management subjects at several institutes of management. She has published a slew of research papers in leading journal and periodicals of the country.
