Dr. K. Govinda Bhat, Ph.D. is a seasoned banker with 36 years of experience in different facets of banking. The Author is familiar to undergraduate students in Commerce and Management through his books on Management and Banking. Mr. Bhat was the Principal of the Staff Training College of a nationalized bank for about 6 years. He holds Master Degree in Science, Economics and Management in addition to Doctoral Degree in Banking. He has published eight books through this publisher, all of them are reference books for undergraduate or postgraduate courses in different universities. All his books are well received by the students and teachers. The Author has taught the subject for 2 years in different colleges in Mumbai.
Professor Govinda Sharma is an M.Tech, (1981) from IIT, Madras and an MBA from the Bangalore University. He has nearly three decades of consultancy experience and teaching experience. He is presently teaching Strategic Management and Ethics and Values in Management at the SDM Institute of Management Studies at Mysore, India. He is a resource person at the Administrative Training Institute, University Grants Commission Staff Training College, Postal Training Centre, Corporates and Professional bodies such - as the Institute for Research Development and Training in Construction Trades and Management (INSTRUCT).
He has worked as Project Management Consultant for a project funded by the Asian Development Bank. He has worked for premium consultancy firms in India namely, Tata Consulting Engineers and Fichtner Consulting Engineers. Overseas, he has worked with MinConsult, Malaysia and Electrowatt (UK) at Dubai.
His area of research interest is Small and Medium Enterprises. He has presented a number of research papers in India and abroad such - as the paper titled "Are Small and Medium Enterprises Agents of Social Justice?" at the International Conference jointly organised by the International Society for Marketing and Development and Macro Marketing Society at Washington DC, USA. His paper on "Innovative Pedagogy in Management with special reference to Strategic Management" was awarded as the "Best Paper" in an International Conference. He is pursuing his doctoral research work on the topic "SMEs as agents of Distributive Justice" from the Visveswaraya Technological University.
He believes in an integral approach to Strategic Management which encompasses ethical and governance concerns in planning and executing strategy. On a personal note, he is keenly interested in Yoga and Vipasana meditation and believes in imparting values in education.
