Therefore, entrepreneurial development has become a global phenomenon. Entrepreneurs establishes strong link between various sector of the economy. The factors like technology, natural resources, labour, and capital are the positive tools in the hands of entrepreneurs to co-ordinate to produce required goods and services of the society. Entrepreneurs plan and put in their effort to convert the resources into the finished products with certain utility to the society. Therefore, entrepreneurial study has become a vital course element in all the curriculums f the universities. The innovative skill of an entrepreneur has to be harnessed for the better utilization of natural resources of any economy. The inner urge and will of an entrepreneur will make him to move forward to take entrepreneurship.

In India, the entrepreneurship has not developed to a required extent. All the advanced countries of the word have recognized the power of entrepreneurship and hence they are in a position to stand in the front line as for as the economic progress of the world is concerned. This has to make place in a big way in India. The concept of entrepreneurship has to be inculcated in young minds in the formative stage. The situation at present in India is ripe where in nearly 40% of the population of the country is in the learning age and this provides a fertile field for development of entrepreneurship. Therefore, it is high time that every university in the country in the country and the educational institutions have to give a course in entrepreneurship development.

About The Author

Dr. Vasant Desai has been engaged in socio-economic research and written on industry, enterpreneurial management, rural economics, rural development, financial system, banking and monetary policy in the last fifty years. Throughout this period one of his persistent interests has been the study of economic problems in their socio-political enterpreneurial cultural and socio-economic setting. He has blended his wide experiences in teaching, research and banking to focus attention on issue in a lucid as well as in an authoritative manner.

Dr. Desai has wide background of research in enterpreneurial development, management, Agriculture,Rural development, savings, industry, banking, monetary economics and small-scale industries and has many opportunities with eminent economists, bankers enterpreneurs, industrialists and other authorites. His passion for knowledge has been responsible for the training of a band of young economists.

Prof. H.R. Appannaiah is an erudite scholar and a prolific writer. He has promoted educational institutions and has a teaching experience of over 50 years, serving in the capacity of professor, principal and the director of postgraduate center. He has widely travelled abroad and has presented many research papers in national and international conferences. He has authored over 90 titles on Commerce and Management subjects, catering to the needs of graduate and postgraduate studies in Commerce and Management. He is a member of Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Karnataka and has served as Chairman of Business Education Committee, besides being the member of International Trade Committee, IT Committee and Tourism Committee. He has founded Federation of Teachers` Councils of Commerce and Management in Karnataka to revamp business education. As a Founder President, he has contributed to give a new turn to business education in Karnataka. At the instance of the Federation, Government of Karnataka appointed a high-powered committee to restructure business education in Karnataka for which he was appointed as a member. He has won many laurels for his contribution to business education.
