About The Book

During the past several decades, human resource function has been transformed from a relatively obscure record-keeping staff to a central and top level management function in an organization. The factors accountable for this change are - technological advances, human rights recognition, professionalism, unionization, government legislations etc. human beings are now widely recognizes as the most important resource in any organization. Since 1970s, there is an increasing demand for computer based Human Resource (HR) system to enable Human resource Management (HRM) to be an effective and efficient function and provide a more positive service to the organization.

In view of growing important of Human resource Information system (HRIS), a majority of academic and professional institutions all over the world have recognized HRIS as a separate academic discipline with a high research focus or HIRS solution and implementation. About The Author

Dr. P.K. Gupta is a postgraduate from Faculty of Commerce and Business Studies, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi and Ph.D. in Finance. He is fellow member of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India, fellow member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Chartered member of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India and fellow of the Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai. He has experience of more than twenty years in industry and academics.

He has presented papers in various international conferences and has won outstanding research awards. He has also published several research papers and articles in reputed journals and magazines. He has organised various Seminars, Workshops and Management Development Programmes in the area of Finance and Risk Management and has been involved in various consultancy assignments. His corporate training endeavours include Risk Management in Banks, Financial Risk Management, Project Risk Management, Cash Flow Analysis, E-banking, etc.

He is the founder of Society for Professional Development (Regd.), Delhi and President of Delhi Professionals` Association (Regd.), Delhi. He is also the Regional Director of the Delhi chapter of Professional Risk Management Association, USA.

He is presently associated as Professor (Finance and Risk Management) with Centre for Management Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi. He has supervised Ph.D.s in various areas of finance, insurance, risk management, banking etc. He has been a visiting faculty with various prestigious management institutions i India and abroad. He is the founder of Society for Professional Development (Regd.), Delhi and President of Delhi Professionals Association (Regd.), Delhi. He is also the Co-Regional Director of the Delhi chapter of PRMIA, USA.

 Susheel Chhabra is Masters in Computer Applications and is holdings a post graduate diploma in management from Kurushetra University and also pursuing his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the same university. He has to his credit more than 10 years of academic and professional experience in various facets of information techology including design and implementation of Management Information Systems. His other area of specialisation includes Computer Networks, Data Wareshousing & Mining, DBMS, Software Engineering, Operating Systems and e-Commerce. He has organised several seminars & workshops and attended conferences and seminars both at international & national level. He is presently associated with Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, R.K. Puram, Delhi as Assistant Professor (Information Technology). He is the Co-ordinator of IBM University Relation Program and Placement Cell of MCA in the same institute.
