About The Book

ZOOLOGY : B. Sc. Semester IV is an effort to make available an authentic and standard study material for the students and teachers. The book has been compiled exclusively as per the New Semester-wise Syllabus of RTM Nagpur University. The study material of the book is derived from many standard reference and textbooks of International and National repute.

The book is divided into three parts and eight units:
Part I: Paper VII "Life and Diversity of Animals-Chordates (Reptilia, Ayes and Mammals)" with IV Units
Part II: Paper VIII "Molecular Biology and Immunology" with IV units
Part III: Practical based on Paper VII & VIII

The unique feature of book is point wise presentation of subject matter which will really helpful for the students while reading the book. Several illustrative diagrams have been included in the text which will help students to grasp the idea quickly and easily. About The Author

Dr. Rajkumar S. Bhonde earned his M.Sc. degree in Zoology from S.G.B.A. University. After M.Sc., he joined as a lecturer in CSBR, RTM Nagpur University in 2004. Subsequently, he continued his research work on Sericology for which RTM Nagpur University conferred the Ph.D. degree on him.

Apart from the professional excellence, he has completed certificate course in Bioinformatics and Diploma in Sericulture. Besides 13 years teaching experience, he has engaged with independent research on forest insect pest. So far he has published two research papers in reputed journals and two oral presentations in international conference. At present, he is associated with Dept. of Zoology, C.J. Patel College of Arts, Commerce, Science and Post-Graduate, Tirora. Dist. Gondia, as the Assistant Professor and Head.

Mr. Ashish S. Gadwe, M.Sc., NET, SET, working as an Assistant Professor in Zoology at M.B. Patel College of Arts, Commerce & Science Deori Dist. Gondia. He has got more than 12 years of teaching experience at graduate as well as postgraduate level. He has also done `Advanced Diploma in Bioinformatics` from Bioinformatic Center, University of Pune. He was a recipient of scholarship sponsored by Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi. He cleared CSIR-NET exam for lectureship with all-India 30th ranking. He is been highly appreciated teacher over the years in this area. He has participated in number of seminars, conferences and workshops and presented research papers.

Dr. Ashish Kumar Jha, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, Bhawabhuti Mahavidyalaya, Amgaon, affiliated to RTM Nagpur University; Nagpur has eight years of teaching experience at undergraduate and one year at postgraduate level. Having a good academic record, the author has done Ph.D. from RTM Nagpur University and qualified UGC-CSIR, NET in June 2003. He has published two research papers in International Journal. The topic of his interest is soil fauna, carbon sequestration, litter decomposition and animal physiology. The author can be reached at [email protected] 

 Dr. Deepa Jamwal M.Sc., Ph.D., B.Ed., working as an Assistant Professor in Zoology at Hislop College, Nagpur. She has got 23 years of teaching experience in Junior College and 6 years in the Senior College. Her area of specialization is Mammalian Reproductive Physiology. She has carried out Minor Research Project and had published 8 research papers in reputed National and International Journal. 

Dr. Gunwant P. Gadekar, M.Sc., Ph.D. working as Head and Assistant Professor in Department of Zoology at Dhote Bandhu Science College, Gondia. He is teaching for more than a decade and believes in motivating the students to have an enquiry mind for success and survival. He has been a recognized supervisor for Ph.D. in Zoology under Science faculty of RTM Nagpur University. He has carried out MRP and number of research papers published in reputed international and national journals.
