This book has been divided into ten chapters.

Chapter 4 dwells on the various facets of technical analysis. It explains the factors in be considered for the selection of a technology, choosing machinery and equipment anti deciding the capacity of a plant. It also highlights the charts and layouts made for project implementation.

Chapter 5 discusses various sources of finance used for setting up a project. It focuses on the financial estimates of project cost, annual sales and annual production.

Chapter 6 contains a comprehensive coverage on the financial statements to be made of a project. It relates to the income statement, cash flow statement, working capital management and balance sheet of a project.

Chapter 7 covers extensively the various investment appraisal criteria. It deals with the analytical techniques to be used in evaluating and selecting a project.

Chapter 8 presents the methodology of social cost benefit analysis. It emphasises on the economic evaluation of a project and the analysing of project on the basis of socio-economic criteria.

About The Author

Dr. Shailendra Kumar Chaturvedi is currently Director and Professor at Sherwood College of Management, Lueknow since April 2009. He has a total experience of over 16 years in Academics and corporate sector. He is MA, MBA and Ph.D. from Lucknow University. He has published dozens of International and National papers and has authored two books. His areas of interest being International Business and Indian Economy, Strategic Management and International Business Environment.

He is a member of examination committee, GBTU, Lucknow. He is the Editor of International Referred Journal - `Management Today`. He is also member of board of Governors and academic advisory boards, Ph.D. programmes in GBTU and other reputed Universities.

 Dr. Shilpi Jauhari  is assistant professor of finance in the Sherwood College of Management, Lucknow. After graduating from St. Bede`s College, Simla She obtained her M.A. in Mathematics from Lucknow University. She completed her M.B.A. form Vikram University, Ujjain and awarded her Ph.D. degree from Lucknow University. She has been a visiting faculty of All India Management Association and Pondicherry University. She has published several research papers in reputed national and international journals. She is serving on the editorial board of a refereed journalShe has been actively involved in teaching, consulting and research for over 10 years. Her current areas of teaching and research interest are in Financial Markets and Institutions, Financial Services, Operation Research, Investment Management, Project Management and Monetary Economics.
