About The Book

The financial sector for the past three years has been under tremendous pressure all over the world. This has created capital flows volatility and has further created a gap between the developed and the developing countries. The major impact of this crisis has been on the banking sector. The Primary market where Initial Public Offerings take place has been sluggish in the recent times. Extreme market volatility and market sentiments have been low for the investors. Risk avoidance and risk minimization or abatements of risk are key parameters for a risk management strategy. A robust risk management process is likely to be far effective in managing risk-reward relationship in corporate. As far as Indian Bank`s are concerned, the capital adequacy position of the banks in India (CRAR) was over 14 per cent and the core CRAR was over 10 per cent as on 30.09.2010 under Basle II norms. This means that Basle III requirements, once fully caliberated, are not likely to be higher than tip current position though there could be some impact due to deductions such as in Tier I and Tier II capital to common equity. Basle III is still micro-regulatory on account of risk weightage and market-to-market.

This volume provides insight on the current issues in Finance & Accounting, Banking Sector/Risk Management and Stock Market volatility and Derivatives areas. International Financial Reporting Standards and Activity based costing are some of the unique features of this volume. Articles and research papers appearing in this book have been written very critically and are useful for the policymakers, academicians and research scholars.
