About The Author

Dr. Sanjay Chhabra s/o Late Shri. Kashi Ram Chhabra originally hailed from Rajasthan. His ancestors settled in Dimapur in 1880. His grandfather Late Udai Ram Chhabra was the Founder President of Sri Digambar Jain Samaj in Dimapur.

Dr. Chhabra did his schooling from S.D. Jain High School, Dimapur under NBSE Board and B.Com. (Honours in Accountancy) from St. Anthony`s College, Shillong under NEHU, passing out First Class with third position.

He left for Delhi for his further studies (C.A. course) and simultaneously did his M.Com. in Management from Delhi University. After completion of M.Com., he came back to Dimapur and became one of the founder lecturers of S.D.Jain Girl`s College in 1993. He took charge as an acting principal in 1995. During his tenure as principal in 1995, the first batch of college got all top ten positions in Nagaland University in XII Commerce exams. He served S.D. Jain Girl’s College from 1993 to 2004 as lecturer, Head of Commerce department and finally served the college as principal.

During his principalship, he completed his LL.B. from Assam University with good second class (56%) and did double M.Com. in Accountancy from Dibrugarh University First Class with first position in 2002. He joined Ph.D. under the Nagaland University Commerce department and achieved the prestigious degree in 2007 and became the first amongst the entire Marwari Community of Nagaland to achieve this degree. Till now he is the only one from Marwari community of Nagaland to achieve this degree.

He took up as the founder principal of Unity College in 2007 and is serving the college till date. He is also one of the counselors for postgraduate Commerce department in Dimapur Government College`s IGNOU study center since 2007. He is loved and respected by his all followers.

He was honored by All India Jain Talent at New Delhi in 2002. He is a man with zeal of academic and social activities. He is a life member of Indian Red Cross Society and Associations of Indian College Principals. He is also associated with Avantika Literary Competition Society of Delhi. He has served Lions Club of Dimapur, Bharat Vikas Parishad, Jan Jyati Kalyan Samiti (Kalyan Ashram), Dimapur Jain Samaj as an executive member. He is one of the members of Board of Undergraduate Studies in Commerce under Nagaland University. Dr. Sanjay Chhabra is a hardworking man, who is sincere and dedicated towards his works.
