Dr. (Mrs.) G. Veena Rao has 18 years of experience which includes research and teaching in Applied Geology. She obtained her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree from I.I.T. Mumbai.She is presently lecturer in Geology at the K.J. Somaiya College of Science and Commerce, Mumbai. Her Ph.D. thesis is a pioneering effort in the use of computer simulation techniques for geomorphological investigations for which she collaborated with Prof. C.A.M. King and Prof. J. Mcullagh, from the University of Nottigham, U.K. Her research interests include computer aided simulation modeling of the earth’s dynamic processes; GIS and Remote Sensing applications in agriculture, hydrology and coastal studies etc.
Prof. S.M. Borges obtained his M.Sc. degree from the University of Mumbai. He has held teaching assignments in K.J. Somaiya College of Science and Commerce, Mumbai and St. Zaviers College, Mumbai.He is presently Head, Department of Geology, Smt. Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science, Goa. He has to his credit outstanding research publications in Petrology and Geochemistry of Deccan Basalts, Carbonatities and Alkaine rocks.
Dr. L.G. Gwalani is a Reader in Geology at Nagpur University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 1976 from the University of Mumbai. The thesis was later selected for the UGC Book grant award and it was published in 1981.He has international research experience; working with institutes in France (University of Paris), Spain (University of Madrid), Australia (Western Australia, Reife). Dr. Gwalini has several research publications in national and international journals to his credit. He is a guest editor of the Journal of Asian Earth Sciences (ELSEVIER) Publishers. He is a member of the Ph.D. examination committees in University of Paris VI and University of Western Australia.He has travelled to Europe, U.S.A., U.K., Australia, Japan, Thailand and China in connection with his research and participation in conferences. His main research and participation in confernences. His main research interests are mineralogy, petrology and geochemistry of alkaline rocks, carbonatites and pegmatites.
