Indian government and politics constitutes an important branch of study and specialisation in the discipline of Political Science. Due to the signal importance of the subject, it has become an indispensable aspect of the study of political science in the Indian Universities. Earlier this was styled or titled as the Indian Constitution as the emphasis was on the analysis and the working of the various institutions was most traditional based upon the historical, philosophical, legal, descriptive, and institutional approaches.
