About The Author

Dr. (Mrs.) M. Jeyarathnam has been selected for the award of Emeritus Fellowship by the University Grants Commission during the year 2014-15. She is attached to Madurai Institute of Social Sciences affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University as Emeritus Professor. She served as Professor / Director in Bharathiyar University prior to her retirement.

She was awarded Ph.D. in Business Administration from Madurai Kamaraj University in 1994. She has two Masters Degree : (i) in English Literature and (ii) in Business Management.

Her areas of specialization are Human Resource Management and Corporate Stragegy. She has published 46 Research Articles in peer reviewed National and International journals. In addition, two major research projects and one minor research International journals. In addition, two major research projects and one minor research project funded by UGC and ICSSR have been undertaken by her. Nine scholars have been awarded Ph.D. and six Ph.D. scholars are pursing under her research guidance. She is a member of Editorial Board for International Journal of Management Review. She is also a member of Doctoral Committee of Anna University – Coimbatore and Gandhigram Rural University and Advisory Board constituted by Government of Tamil Nadu for Premature Release of Prisoners. She served as a member of the Senate of Bharathiyar University.

Her research article entitled “Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam – Manager Par Excellence – A Point of View” received commendations from the former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. She visited Dhaka on invitation to present a research paper in the Third Academic Conference organized by the Association of Management Development Institutions of South Asia (AMDISA) in 1994.
