About The Author

Dr. Rita Bhargava, presently chief consultant Dietitian and Head of Department, Care Hospital, Nagpur, Maharashtra. She is research guide at IGNOU. She has done her PG Diploma in Dietetics, M.Sc, PhD in Food and Nutrition from RTMNU. She has done her RD in 2003. She is a NCD, lifestyle and Diabetic educator, renal, bariatric and Nutrigenomic counselor. She has organized several CNE/ seminars and diet exhibitions, public awareness programs at acadmic, community and corporate level. She has presented papers at various National conferences and International congress of Dietetics, ICDA. The author is the president of Indian Dietetic Association, Nagpur chapter, and member of NEC, National Media and communication committee, IDA (2014-18). She has to her credit a review article in National IDA newletter on The Saturated Fat story re-evaluated and has published articles in journals DAI, RSSDI, and nutrition awareness write-ups in newspapers and magazines for benefit of masses. She is a life member of IDA, NSI, DAI, RSSDI, ADE and Rotary.

Kavita Bakshi, is presently teaching Dietetics, at WTERI, Nagpur, Maharashtra. She has done her PG Diploma in Public Relations, PG Diploma in Dietetics, M.Sc, PhD (submitted) in Food and Nutrition from RTMNU. She is a certified Diabetic Educator and Nutrigenomics counsellor. She has organized more than 100 diet exhibitions for public awareness programs at various platforms like hospitals, industries, societies,corporates and participated in various health camps for diet counseling to the masses. She conducts Nutrition Education programmes for rural and urban school children of all age groups. The author is the honarary Secretary of Indian Dietetic Association, Nagpur chapter and a life member of IDA, NSI and ADE. She has published several articles in international journals on various topics viz: Obesity, Diabetes, Bone Mineral Density etc.
