About The Book

The National Education Policy, 2020 heralds new hopes, new inspirations, new vistas and new destination for Commerce and Management student community. Since the subject belongs to Discipline Specific Core, the content of each module is effectively presented for easy and simple understanding by all.

In the first module of the textbook, the Introduction to management, encompassing its nature, scope, importance, management thoughts, evolution of management are thoroughly deliberated keeping in mind, the NEP intent.

In the second module, Purpose of Planning, Planning Process; Objectives; Types of plans, Decision making are covered. In the third module, the concept of Organization; Principles of Organizing; Delegation of Authority; Nature and Importance of Staffing are meticulously covered.

In the fourth module, Directing and Communicating, Communication Barriers, Types of Communication; theories of Motivation and styles of leadership are lucidly portrayed.

Eventually, in the fifth module Coordination, Importance and Principles, Techniques of Control are covered. In the sixth Business Social Responsibility - Meaning, Arguments for and against Business Social Responsibility; Green management, Ethics in Business are systematically presented therein.

Each chapter is meticulously presented with learning objectives, detailed discussion of concepts, theories, models and living cases with examples. The book is reader friendly and worth treasuring it for posterity. Each chapter ends with objective, analytical and essay type questions. We have authored with great care and if at all there are any errors and discrepancies, the readers are requested to offer their constructive suggestions and continuously patronise us as before.

About The Author

Dr. K. Ramachandra, has to his credit M.Com.(Rank Holder), MBA., DPM & IR, LLB., and Ph.D., and over two decades of teaching and research experience in the field of Commerce and Management disciplines. He was a High Court Advocate with strong base and exposure on business, taxation, and I PR trade laws. He has produced several Ph.Ds and M.Phils. He has published several International Research Papers in Journals, Magazines and Newspapers of Global Repute. Currently working as Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce and Management, Maharani`s Arts, Commerce and Management College for Women, Bangalore, a NAAC accredited `A` Grade College. A prolific writer and received wide spread acclaim for his power brand books - Services Management, International Finance, Indian Constitution, International Business Laws, Marketing, Research Methodology and the like. He also holds the position of Presidentship of Bangalore University Teachers` Council of Commerce and Management. He is a resource person visiting several B-Schools in India.
